South Florida: University of South Florida Football Strength and Conditioning is currently seeking volunteers for an UNPAID internship for the Spring Semester of 2024. Qualified individuals who are chosen will have the opportunity to assist, and learn from a Division 1 Football Strength and Conditioning Staff. All that apply must possess great work ethic, energy and character. As well as exceptional communication and organizational skills. Potential candidates must have a strong desire to progress in the field, as well as the desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Previous experience as an intern in the collegiate strength and conditioning setting, or coaching experience in athletics is preferred, but not required. Duties include, but are not limited to: set up and break down of all football training sessions, consistent facility maintenance, data entry, assist the full-time staff in all football training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules, and other duties as assigned by the full-time strength and conditioning staff. The Spring Volunteer Program is set to start on January 4th, 2024 and will conclude on May 3rd, 2024. UTSA: The University of Texas at San Antonio Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Spring of 2024. This internship will begin Tuesday, January 9th, and will conclude in May of 2024. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Texas at San Antonio Football, and all other Olympic Sports. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a Division I setting, learn to utilize sport technology data for GPS tracking and VBT, as well as assist with daily logistical tasks in the weight room and complete the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Applicants should be working towards holding a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and/or personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Weber State: Weber State Sports Performance, a Division I university member of the Big Sky Conference, is actively seeking motivated individuals for the UNPAID internship program this SPRING 2024. There are 2-3 spots available with Football and other sports as able. The internship program will run from January 4th thru April 30th. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Sports Performance setting. Over the course of the semester interns can expect to work early morning, late afternoon, and/or weekend hours. As an intern you can expect to assist with all team training sessions. Gain valuable knowledge and experience via, exercise selection/progression/regression, facility management, and professional development assignments. You will also gain experience and knowledge with GPS, timing gates and velocity based equipment. The goal of the internship program is to develop the skills and coaching experience that prepare successful interns for graduate assistant positions at the conclusion of their time in the program. REQUIREMENTS: Graduate, or Undergraduate students working towards a degree in exercise science or related field, OR post graduate students looking to gain experience in a Division 1 setting. A strong desire to become a Sports Performance Professional at the Collegiate Level, ability to maintain a flexible and demanding schedule, effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO): The Lindenwood University Athletic Performance Department is currently seeking applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for Spring 2024 Semester. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with a variety of the 20+ teams that train out of the Lindenwood Athletic Performance Facility with the start date being Jan 8th, 2024 and wrapping up on May 3rd, 2024. Applicants will be expected to fulfill 15 hours minimum per week. These positions are UNPAID but offer the opportunity to gain on-the-floor coaching experience, a 12-week curriculum course, and the ability to fulfill course credit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of training for the various Lindenwood team/programs, set-up and breakdown of sessions, daily cleaning/organization of the facility, as well as participation in the internship curriculum. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: First Aid/CPR and AED certified, working towards, or recently attained Bachelor's, reliable and consistent personal conduct, strong work ethic and a passion to listen, learn, and apply knowledge.  PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Working towards or recently attained CSCS/SCCC/USAW, and previous player or coaching experience at the collegiate level. These positions offer the opportunity to gain hands-on coaching experience and are designed to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and experience to further your coaching career. NDSU: North Dakota State University’s Strength and Conditioning department is seeking applicants for a Football Strength and Conditioning paid Internship starting in January 2024. The intent of the internship is to provide a semesters worth of hands-on coaching experience working with our strength and conditioning staff and eventually with our student-athletes. This will allow the individual to gain knowledge of our program thus making them a viable candidate for future GA positions. Duties will include assisting the Director of Football Strength & Conditioning with all aspects of the football strength and conditioning program as well as daily maintenance of the nutrition area, weight room and other responsibilities as assigned. Applicants must be prepared to work long hours. These hours will vary throughout the internship and will include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Requirements: Applicants must possess a relentless work-ethic and have a strong desire to work with football in an intense environment. They must understand the importance nutrition plays in the development of student-athlete and be willing to assist in that role. Again, this is a hands-on internship where you will be expected to coach student-athletes, once you have taken the time and interest in learning the system. Candidates that are open-minded, inquisitive and have the ability to listen and learn through an example-based, learning environment are encouraged to apply.
