Fresno State: Fresno State is accepting applications for volunteer interns to contribute to the Fresno State Sports Science Program for the 2023 Summer and potentially into the Fall Semester. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the Football and Olympic Sports Performance staff with the implementation of sports science technologies and principles, as well as back-end data management and visualization software, to better inform decision-making. In addition to daily responsibilities, this internship includes a professional development curriculum designed to maximize interns’ potential as well-rounded applied sports scientists and performance analysts. This curriculum includes education of performance testing and tracking modalities, weightroom management and logistics, data hygiene and storage, visualization methods, independent projects, interview prep, etc. The goal of this internship is to develop highly effective sports scientists with the potential to transition into a paid position with Fresno, another university, or professional organization. Prospective candidates must possess a desire to become a sports scientist or performance analyst, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study.
