Iowa: The Hawkeyes placed director of strength and conditioning Chris Doyle on administrative leave over the weekend. On Sunday, the country’s highest paid strength coach shared a statement on the allegations against him.

Tarleton State (FCS - TX): The Tarleton State University Athletic Performance Program is accepting internship applications for the Fall 2020 semester, with a starting date on or before August 24, 2020, and an end date of December 4, 2020. The internship hours may be countable toward the CSCCa’s Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified practicum requirements, and/or for college credit if needed. The volunteer internship will involve active experience in an NCAA Division I (FCS) Athletic Performance program under the supervision of a 37-year veteran Master Strength and Conditioning Coach and his staff. Qualifications: Applicants should be pursuing strength and conditioning as a profession and possess, or currently be working on, CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification. Compensation: This is an educational internship with no monetary compensation provided. However, opportunities for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning are possible for successful interns. UNC-Charlotte: University of North Carolina at Charlotte seeks 3 applicants for Sports Performance Internships for the Fall’20 Semester. This internship will provide an intensive, hands-on approach to the principles and methods of strength & conditioning covered in the Charlotte 49er Sports Performance Program Responsibilities: Successful candidates will assist in the organizing & implementing of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Olympic Sports Performance Program. This includes, but is not limited to, the areas of movement assessment, exercise technique progression, dynamic warm-up, speed & movement training, strength training, soft tissue/mobility, and performance testing for all student-athletes. Interns will also be responsible for collecting and interpreting testing data, the daily maintenance of equipment and facilities, and the development of strength & conditioning manuals, instructional videos and updating social media sites. This position will not work with Football. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, First Aid and CPR certified. Certified or working toward the CSCS, SCCC or USAW certification and Division I coaching experience. This position requires background knowledge in Kinesiology or a related field and as well as the ability to teach exercise safety as well as enforce weight room rules and regulations. Intermediate computer skills required. Good verbal communication is a must. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Background check required at own expense if hired. Compensation: Successful candidates will receive valuable hands-on experience coaching college athletes. This is an opportunity to be included in the building of a High Performance Team from the ground up. Course credit is also available if offered by the applicant's host institution.
