University of Texas (Austin): The University of Texas Football Performance Department is accepting applications for 1-2 VOLUNTEER strength and conditioning intern positions for the Summer 2024 Semester. Internship will potentially begin May 27th and continue through July 31st, 2024. QUALIFICATIONS: A strong desire to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning coach; a strong work ethic; punctual; completed or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field; current CPR/AED certification. Preferred: Currently possess or working toward CSCS, SCCC and/or USAW certification; previous internship/coaching experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting strength coaches in the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning/sports performance programs; daily weight room maintenance and up keep; and any other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. COMPENSATION: Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field at the Division-I level, achieve necessary internship/practicum hours for SCCC and/or fulfill school credit if necessary. UTSA: The University of Texas at San Antonio Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Summer of 2024. This internship will begin Friday, May 24th, and will conclude in August of 2024. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Texas at San Antonio Football, and all other Olympic Sports. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a Division I setting, learn to utilize sport technology data for GPS tracking and VBT, as well as assist with daily logistical tasks in the varsity weight room and complete the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Applicants should be working towards holding a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and/or personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Louisville: Louisville Football Strength and Conditioning is seeking hard working future strength coaches for SUMMER 2024 internships. Expected start date is May 28, 2024. Must be in pursuit of a relevant professional certification or degree, certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, able to adapt to a demanding schedule and work in a fast-paced environment. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan University’s Sports Performance Department is seeking highly motivated internship candidates for the summer of 2024. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Sports Performance setting. Responsibilities:  Assist with supervision and coaching of training sessions for all sports as assigned, Weight Room Management Duties, Set up and break down of training sessions o Providing a positive training atmosphere for the student-athletes,  Routine maintenance of facility,  Successful completion of Internship Curriculum, Frequent technology administration and data transferring (Force Plates, Velocity Based Training Systems, & GPS), Any other duties as assigned by the staff. Interns are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters degree in exercise science, sport management, or related field; Certified in or pursuing CPR/First Aid; A strong desire to become a Sports Performance Coach; Plans to pursue a nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification through either the National Strength and Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Compensation: Opportunity for employment with EMU Recreation Center(Fitness & Temp jobs).
