Baker (NAIA - KS): The Baker University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking to fill ONE Graduate Assistant position. The position will report directly to the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with all sports including football and the opportunity to lead 2-4 teams to be determined upon hire. Hours will vary and will include early mornings and late evenings. Other responsibilities include: daily maintenance and upkeep of facility, interns, etc. Candidates will receive a full tuition waiver, gear, valuable hands-on coaching experience in all aspects as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength & Conditioning. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Kinesiology or Exercise Science related field. CPR, First Aid and AED certification required. Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCCa, CSCS, or USAW) or must be able to obtain within six months of hire. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic. Start date is negotiable either summer of 2024 or Fall 2024. Southern (FCS - LA): Southern University, located in Baton Rouge, invites applications for the position of (2) Summer (2024) Football Strength & Conditioning Coach. This intern program is designed to provide each participant with a holistic and valuable practical experience in the field of Strength and Conditioning. This is an unpaid internship, STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. Applicants must possess a strong desire to become a football collegiate strength & conditioning coach. Interns will have the opportunity to learn in a practicum environment under the supervision of the Head Football Strength and Conditioning, and gain valuable hands on experience. Coach Moore, is also a CSCCa approved mentor. Students should be working towards a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or preparing to obtain a strength and conditioning certification (NSCA – CSCS, USAW, CSCCa). Qualifications: Enrolled in a Bachelor degree program in related strength and conditioning field. Possess, or be working towards, one of the following certifications: NSCA – CSCS, USAW, CSCCa, and must be up to date on CPR/AED certification. Must have a strong desire to pursue a career in football strength and conditioning. Willingness to participate in the full summer intern program (8 weeks). Duties: Monitor and track attendance. Daily set up weight room set up and field set up. Assist student athletes with program implementation, technique, and spotting. Participate in team warm ups or training sessions. Attend weekly professional development meetings with strength staff. Start Date: June 1, 2024 (tentative start date). End Date: August 31, 2024.
