Mount St. Mary's: Mount St. Mary’s University, a member of the Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference, is currently seeking strength and conditioning internship candidates for the 2023 Spring Term. The internship dates will run from January 17th to May 4th (start & end dates are flexible). This is an unpaid position; therefore, accommodation will be made for the candidate to maintain full-time or part-time employment to assist with personal finances. Interns will also gain hands on coaching experience, education in program design and application, and have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting with the strength and conditioning programs for all our DI programs, assisting in the daily maintenance of the training facilities, data collection and organization, and professional development assignments and reading recommendations. Minimum Qualifications include a strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, and effective communication skills. Western Illinois (FCS - IL): Western Illinois University is currently accepting applications for 3 (three) available Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaching position. The position of Graduate Assistant for Strength and Conditioning is responsible for directly assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning in all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for all 17 Division I sport programs. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to; implement strength and conditioning programs for assigned sport teams, coordinate times for assigned teams around class and team schedules in conjunction with weight room and strength staff, assist with and conduct periodic performance and strength testing, stay abreast of current trends in the field, and other duties as assigned. This position requires a CSCS and/or a SCCC coaching credential, CPR/First Aid certification and the ability to work flexible hours. Graduate assistant positions include a monthly stipend plus tuition (employment is contingent upon proof of admission to the Graduate School). Jenison HS (MI): The Jenison High School Strength & Performance Department, located in Jenison, Michigan, is actively seeking applicants for two paid summer assistant positions working with our Junior High and High School student-athletes. This position will begin on May 22nd, 2023 and conclude on July 21st, 2023. This is a nine-week commitment. Our summer schedule consists of training 7th-12th grade student-athletes Monday- Thursday from 6:00am-2:00pm. Your responsibilities will include: implementation of all aspects of strength & performance programs (must be confident and proficient coaching strength training, Olympic lifting, plyometric, linear speed, and multi-directional speed movements), set-up/breakdown/general maintenance of the weight room and field, data collection/organization/entry, and education and implementation of training standards. What you get: experience coaching large groups of athletes to grow your coaching skills for the next step in your career, experience with Freelap Timing and PUSH Velocity Based Training systems, $4,500, and Jenison Strength Gear. Gettysburg College (D-III - PA): Gettysburg College seeks a Football Strength and Conditioning Intern. This is a stipend position with the possibility of meals provided, affordable housing can be obtained. This coach will be responsible for monitoring athletes and leading football workouts. There is the opportunity to work with all 24 varsity sports but football will be the priority. This is a great opportunity for young coaches looking to get into the strength & conditioning profession at the collegiate level. Requirements for this position are: Current, nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification (NSCA - CSCS, CSCCa- SCCC, USAW, NCSF - CSC; CSCS preferred); CPR/AED certified; A bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related Health Science field preferred.
