Flagler (NAIA - FL): The Flagler College Sports Performance Department is looking to fill two volunteer internship positions for the Fall 2024 semester. Applicants must hold or be actively working toward a CSCS or SCCC certification, and/or be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and be First Aid/CPR/AED certified. Applicants will be required to pass a background check. Applicants can expect hands-on coaching opportunities, weekly lectures pertaining to the seven program design variables, and professional development assignments, among other duties assigned by the Sports Performance Staff. This internship is specifically geared towards working in collegiate athletics; it is HIGHLY recommended that an applicant’s primary career goal be to become a full-time collegiate sports performance/strength and conditioning coach. Southern Nazarene: Southern Nazarene University (Bethany, OK) is seeking a full-time Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. The S&C Coordinator will coordinate and implement all facets of training consisting of exercise prescription, program design and implementation, injury reduction strategies, optimization of physical conditioning, improvement of athletic abilities, and physical performance evaluations. In addition, the successful candidate will provide guidance, direction, and oversight to the graduate assistant(s) and any available interns. Candidates are required to have a degree (Bachelor’s and/or Master’s) in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or related field; must be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). This position requires a thorough understanding of long-term athletic development, exercise and sports science, strength and conditioning principles, and the ability to effectively communicate and motivate student-athletes. UTSA: The University of Texas at San Antonio (TX): The University of Texas at San Antonio Sports Performance Department is actively seeking hard-working, passionate applicants for VOLUNTARY/ NON-MONETARY internship positions working with D1 student-athletes within our institution for the 2024 Fall-Term Starting: July, 30 2024 Ending: End of Bowl Season Interns will have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, techniques, and expertise necessary to be an effective, entry-level strength and conditioning coach or graduate assistant on a collegiate or professional level. Individuals looking to get experience in the field of Sports Nutrition are encouraged to apply as well. The interns will be expected to aid the Sports Performance staff in coaching athletes across various sports at the Division I level. Interns will be expected to participate in an internship curriculum that is meant to prepare candidates for their future endeavors within the field of strength and conditioning. This curriculum will include assignments, discussions, and experience in the following areas: leadership, sports management, exercise physiology, program design, exercise instruction and techniques, Olympic lifting progressions and techniques, communication / organizational / interpersonal skills, plyometric techniques, speed and agility techniques, and return to play protocols. Internship responsibilities will include various duties within the University of Texas at San Antonio Sports Performance Department on a daily basis. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon hours and occasional weekends. Minimum Requirements: 1. Candidates must possess the following traits: proactive, driven, adaptable, detail-oriented, strong interpersonal skills, punctual, hard-working, passionate, outgoing and eager to learn and develop as an aspiring professional and human being. 2. Must be able to handle transportation to and from internship on daily basis. 3. Responsible for finding housing during internship duration. 4.
