Louisiana: The University of Louisiana Athletic Performance for Football is accepting internship applicants for Fall 2023. This internship is designed for individuals who want to have a career in the field of athletic performance. This is an UNPAID position. Interns will be provided with opportunities to grow and have hands-on coaching experience in a FBS football program. Responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of training, set-up and breakdown of daily training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, data collection, as well as participation in an internship curriculum. Qualifications: Applicants must be pursing or have completed Bachelors in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be working toward CSCS / SCCC certification as well. Wittenberg (D-III - OH): The Wittenberg University Strength and Conditioning Department has an immediate opening for a Graduate Assistant ($18,000/year + 25% tuition covered) or Part-Time Coach ($15,000/year). The position will be responsible for 4 teams (TBD based on applicant experience and fit) while also assisting with football. Candidates should have their CSCS Certification, bachelor's degree, and CPR/AED Certification. Virginia: UVA is looking to hire volunteer interns for Fall 2023. The S&C Intern, Football, contributes to the successful development and execution of the football S&C program, as well as assists student athletes with achieving their identified goals. They participate in the planning, design, and implementation of an effective strategy to maximize the physical capabilities and athletic performance of team members. They are educated on how to analyze individual player needs, provide instruction on proper techniques, and achieve established targets, maintain weight rooms and equipment, adhere to compliance requirements, and support sports program needs. They perform their work under the direct supervision of the Football S&C Coaching staff. Job Description: Develop knowledge as a strength and conditioning coach through completion of education program; Assist S&C staff with training execution; Establish and cultivate strong relationships with student athletes to educate, support, and motivate them to attain their team and individual strength and conditioning targets; Maintain the inventory and quality of equipment in weight rooms. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Working towards or possess a Bachelorβs degree. Some experience in strength and conditioning or sports at any level is required. Interest in earning certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) is required.
