Utah: Utah Football Sports Performance is seeking motivated interns for Fall 2024 (Aug. 19- Dec. 13). This is a VOLUNTEER position that offers experience in all aspects of the football sports performance program. This position will prepare interns for the NSCA (CSCS) exam. Interns will gain experience with technologies such as FYTT, Catapult, Vald: FORCEDECKS and NORDBORD. Candidates need to pursue a professional S&C certification and college degree. Candidates must also possess a strong work ethic, ability to adapt to the demands of a power 4 football schedule, and passion for training and sports performance. This position will provide possible opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning, and course credit if needed. Utah Tech: Utah Tech is seeking 1 paid assistant strength and conditioning coaches (Salary $15k). Interviews starting asap with an anticipated start end July/ early Aug. Utah Tech is a 4th year Division 1 FCS school that competes in the WAC/UAC(football) conference. The University is located in one of the fastest growing areas in the nation, St. George, Utah located just under 2 hours from Las Vegas. Position will be Women’s Basketball, Volleyball and WTennis as well as assisting with football. CSCS or SCCC certification required. Lamar (FCS - TX): Lamar University Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Fall 2024 Semester beginning August 19th, 2024. The Lamar University Strength and Conditioning Internship program provides aspiring interns a base to becoming successful in the strength and conditioning field. A successful candidate will receive hands-on experience with Division I collegiate sports teams including but not limited to football and basketball. We are looking for motivated individuals who have a passion for athletics and sports performance. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with team training sessions and testing. Help introduce new student-athletes to weight room policies and procedures. Set-up and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for the upcoming training session. Ensure proper nutrition is given to student-athletes. Assist with the daily upkeep of all strength & conditioning facilities. Student-Athlete filming for social media accounts. Other duties as assigned by the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. Additionally, interns will participate in weekly intern meetings that will help develop core values, programming, exercise technique, and overall coach development. Intern curriculum will conclude with presenting a self-made strength and conditioning program for an assigned team. Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination. COMPENSATION: This is an UNPAID position, however interns can receive class credits and hours towards certification under an approved CSCCa Mentor. QUALIFICATIONS: Seeking Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related field; or Master’s degree. Knowledge of strength training, speed, agility, flexibility, nutrition and cardiovascular conditioning preferred. Experience as a student-athlete is preferred. Demonstrate strong communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to motivate a variety of student-athletes on a daily basis. Demonstrate initiative and leadership qualities on a daily basis.
