Auburn parts ways with offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery

Auburn and Philip Montgomery are parting ways after one season, the school has announced.

Sources share with FootballScoop that additional changes are in the works as well. Stay tuned for news on those.

Montgomery served as Hugh Freeze's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach this past fall on The Plains.

The former head coach at Tulsa, and offensive play caller at Baylor prior to that, led an improved offense that finished 72nd nationally in scoring offense; but one that struggled to find any sort of rhythm in the passing game.

The Tigers did rank among the nation's top 25 rushing offenses, but were 124th nationally in passing on the season.

Steve Berkowitz shares that Montgomery is owed a buyout of about $2.5 million, with duty to mitigate.

Stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
