As his team prepares for an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat on Sunday, Andy Reid will not ride off into the sunset, win or lose.
The Kansas City Chiefs head coach announced Tuesday he will continue coaching in 2025.
Either way, the 2025 season will be a monumental one in Kansas City. With a win on Sunday, the first time 3-time defending Super Bowl champs will look to make even more history by becoming the first team to win four straight Super Bowls. With a loss, Kansas City will look to become the fourth team in NFL history to follow a Super Bowl loss with a Super Bowl win, following the 1971-72 Cowboys, 1972-73 Dolphins, and the 2018-19 Patriots.
Reid, 66, has been in coaching continuously since taking a GA job at BYU in 1982, and coached in the NFL each season since becoming the Green Bay Packers assistant offensive line/tight ends coach in 1992.
He's been a head coach since 1999, collecting 273 regular season wins and 28 playoff victories. His teams have won 15 division championships (nine consecutive) and reached 12 conference title games (seven consecutive).
A win on Sunday pushes Reid into a tie for second place with Chuck Noll with four Super Bowl victories, pushing him past Bill Walsh and Joe Gibbs. Reid's 273 regular-season wins are fourth in NFL history, placing him 23 above Tom Landry and 29 behind Bill Belichick. He is 55 behind Don Shula for first place in NFL history.
His 28 wins place him three behind Belichick for the most in postseason history.
