Scott Power, who spent the 2024 season as Lance Taylor's Western Michigan defensive coordinator, is again on the move, sources tell FootballScoop.
Power, also a former Louisiana Tech defensive coordinator, is headed to Luke Fickell's Wisconsin staff, sources tell FootballScoop, as a defensive assistant.
It's the second staffer in the past month that Taylor and Western Michigan are set to lose to Fickell and the Badgers; wideouts coach Jordan Reid also departed WMU recently to take the same post at Wisconsin.
In Year 2, Taylor guided Western Michigan to a bowl berth, falling short in the chance for a season-ending win against South Alabama.
The Badgers did not advance to the postseason in Year 2 under Fickell, dipping to a 5-7 regular season after going 7-5 in 2023, his first full season in Madison.
Since that time, Fickell has made staff changes on both sides of the football as head guides the program into a crucial Year 3, 2025 season.
The Badgers are scheduled to open the upcoming campaign with back-to-back home contests against Miami (Ohio) and MTSU before traveling to face SEC power Alabama. Among their Big Ten contests are games against Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Indiana.
