Bucknell plans to hire Dave Cecchini as its next head coach, sources told FootballScoop on Wednesday.
Cecchini is currently the head coach at Valparaiso, where he is 17-38 in five seasons leading the Crusaders.
Cecchini has a wealth of experience in Patriot League, where Bucknell plays. He played wide receiver at Lehigh and served as an assistant at his alma mater in two different stints, most recently as the Mountain Hawks' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2010-13. Cecchini also served in similar capacities at Harvard and The Citadel.
Bucknell went 1-10 in 2018. Joe Susan stepped down as head coach on Jan. 14 after nine season as the Bison's head coach.
