Les Miles appears to have his first hire on the board at Kansas, and it's a big one. Auburn offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey is set to leave the Plains for KU to become Miles's offensive coordinator, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com and Brandon Marcello of Auburn Undercover.
A longtime high school coach, Lindsey deposited two stints on Malzahn's staff, first on an analyst on Auburn's SEC championship team in 2013 and then as Auburn's offensive coordinator for the past two seasons.
In between those two stints, Lindsey was the offensive coordinator at Southern Miss (2014-15) and Arizona State (2016).
Lindsey was a high school coach in Alabama and Georgia for the first decade-plus of his career, and has no prior experience working with Miles.
