Arkansas hosts No. 1 Alabama this weekend, which obviously presents a huge moment for the Hogs and the now four-year tenure of head coach Bret Bielema.
But rather than moving immediately on to preparation for the top-ranked Tide or taking a night's breather following a 52-10 drubbing of Alcorn State on Saturday afternoon, Bielema and his wife Jen flew to Minnesota to accompany Hogs center Frank Ragnow home after the player learned his father passed away earlier in the day.
The Bielemas spent the night in Minnesota, then returned home to Arkansas on Sunday.
"In recruiting I tell parents that I can't promise them playing time, can't promise them a degree," Bielema told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "but I tell them all the time I will look after your son, and I mean it."
Ragnow is expected back in Fayetteville at some point this week.
"I think he'll be back with us later in the week. He made that comment to me Saturday night as we sat in the basement of the facility, that he wanted to play," Bielema told the paper.
