Irish Illustrated shares today that "barring a last second change" Virginia Tech's Joe Rudolph is expected to be the new offensive line coach in South Bend.
Multiple outlets are reporting the same.
Rudolph spent last season as Virginia Tech's run game coordinator and offensive line coach.
Before joining Brent Pry's staff, he spent seven seasons mentoring the offensive line at Wisconsin, where he also held the associate head coach / run game coordinator titles under Paul Chyrst.
In Madison, Rudolph developed some of the most impressive offensive line units in college football and churned out multiple NFL players and five first-team All Americans.
Rudolph held the offensive coordinator title for three seasons under Chryst at Pitt from 2012-14, where he worked with the tight ends.
At Notre Dame, he will join a revamped offensive staff led by new offensive coordinator Gerad Parker, quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli, and returning offensive assistants Deland McCullough (RBs) and Chansi Stuckey (WRs).
