FootballScoop Weekend Rewind: Seasons that matter, seasons in tatter after Week 11 (Big 12 Officiating)

Just as everyone expected, Tennessee and Texas A&M sit atop the rugged Southeastern Conference's standings.

And each program controls its own destiny.

Yes, if Josh Heupel's Vols and first-year coach Mike Elko's Aggies win out, the two teams meet for the SEC Championship and both would be 12-team College Football Playoff-bound.

How? Well, the Vols vanquished Alabama last month and travel to Georgia this weekend.

They've got just non-conference money-victim UTEP and then a gritty Vanderbilt team left the final two weeks of the season.

The Aggies, coming off a bye, have non-conference New Mexico State followed by a road-trip to Auburn before closing their season at home with the resumption of the Lone Star State Showdown against visiting Texas.

Not atop the standings and not in control of, well, anything? LSU. Brian Kelly's Tigers are singing the bayou blues with three losses, even if only two are in SEC play, and are still recovering from the embarrassing dismantling at home Saturday by Alabama.

The Crimson Tide already have top billing among the nation's two-loss teams in the CFP standings; they'll inch higher Tuesday night.

And Ole Miss reasserted itself as a two-loss tour de force with its systematic extinguishing of Georgia, which looks as mortal as any Kirby Smart team since his first year between the hedges back in 2016.

The Bulldogs face official SEC and de facto CFP elimination this week at home against the Vols under the lights of Sanford Stadium.

The Big 12 has a massive controversy brewing with no less than three prominent representatives of conference institutions putting the Big 12's officiating crews on absolute blast this weekend.

The FootballScoop staff dives into those situations, with Zach Barnett labeling Utah A.D. Mark Harlan's comments as "weak" against the Big 12 officiating crew by saying they stole victory from the Utes.

All these nuggets and plenty more:
