Ed Orgeron and LSU lost passing game coordinator Joe Brady to an opportunity to become the offensive coordinator for the Panthers under Matt Rhule shortly after they captured the national title. As a reminder, Steve Ensminger remains on board as the Tigers offensive coordinator.
Yesterday, Orgeron provided an update on where the search to fill the opening on the Tigers staff stands by noting that he is mainly looking at NFL guys.
"We're vetting a lot of guys, and obviously a lot of coaches are interested," Orgeron shared at the signing day presser. "We're looking primarily at the NFL, not to say that necessarily that we wont look in college, but we're looking for some different ideas and things we can add to an already great offense."
Oregon did go on to mention that Jorge Munoz, who served as an analyst for the program and was widely considered as a quality in-house option to move into Brady's vacated role, is always going to be a candidate, but also noted he wants to get a full scope of what is available out there. Munoz joined Dave Aranda at Baylor as passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach back in late January
"We have interviewed one guy, and will interview several guys next week," Oregon added.
As for a timeline, coach O said he really doesn't need to make a decision until before spring ball starts for the Tigers, which is in March.
