Yesterday, we shared a report that said former Wisconsin interim head coach and defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was interviewing for the Eagles defensive coordinator opening.
This morning, a report shares that the Eagles want to interview another Big Ten defensive coordinator.
Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter has also interviewed for the Eagles opening, Mike Garafolo shares.
In his first season coordinating the Wolverines defense, while replacing a lot of key pieces from a stellar 2021 group, Minter did an impressive job coordinating one of the best defenses in college football this past season, and brought home our FootballScoop Defensive Coordinator of the Year Award.
If Minter lands the job, it would be the second straight defensive coordinator Jim Harbaugh has lost to the NFL in as many seasons, with Mike Macdonald leaving the Wolverines last season to return to the Ravens as defensive coordinator.
The report adds that Rams defensive backs coach / pass game coordinator Chris Shula has also interviewed as well. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and Shula worked together on the Chargers staff for two seasons previously.
It will be fascinating to see who the Eagles land on for the defensive coordinator role with some of the names in play.
Stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
