Deion Sanders updates status of Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter (Arizona)

Travis Hunter leads Deion Sanders's Colorado squad in receptions, touchdowns, all-purpose yards, interceptions and has the seventh-most tackles of any defender.

Now, Colorado's two-way star also is on track to return this week as the Buffaloes battle Big 12 foe Arizona in a key bounce-back game.

Colorado saw Kansas State rally with a late score to spoil the largest-ever home crowd in Folsom Field history and also deny the Buffaloes a chance for their fifth a win, a victory that would have eclipsed last year's full-season total.

"Injuries, Travis should play for certain on Saturday," Deion Sanders said during his weekly press conference Tuesday. "Jimmy (Horn) as well."

Horn is No. 2 for the Colorado offense in both receptions and all-purpose yards, as the Buffaloes continue to pile up offensive benchmarks with star quarterback Shedeur Sanders at the helm. He's completed 127 of 237 passes for 2,018 yards, 17 touchdowns and just four interceptions; Sanders has added one rushing touchdown.

All are considered NFL Draft prospects, with Hunter and Shedeur Sanders projected as first-round selections. Hunter and Sanders also could be Heisman Trophy contenders.

And Deion Sanders points to his team's overall talent level and buy-in, as well as a "tremendously talented" coaching staff, as to why he wholly believes this Colorado team is vastly different than his inaugural version in 2023, which also rested at 4-2 by the season's midpoint.

"Let’s start with coaches," Coach Prime said. "Our coaching staff is extremely different. Very talented. They are truly smart, intelligent men and understand what we have in this locker room.

"The young men we have on this team is truly different [than last year]. I think I can tell by at least five different (NFL) scouts coming to practice every single day. ...

"I don’t look at yesterday and compare those two [teams]. That’s a great question, but this is a whole different team."
