Last hiring cycle, while still in place as the head coach at UCLA before he ultimately left for Columbus, Chip Kelly was in the mix for a number of NFL offensive coordinator opportunities.
After helping lead Ryan Day and Ohio State to a national title, it should come as no surprise that multiple NFL teams are interested in bringing Kelly's offensive prowess back to the NFL, where he previously served as head coach of the Eagles and 49ers.
According to Jonathan Jones, Kelly is considered a target for both the Jaguars and Texans offensive coordinator opportunities.
The Texans recently fired offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik after two seasons where he did an admirable job mentoring CJ Stroud in his first two seasons in the league.
While the Texans have strong internal candidates like quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson in the mix to call plays, a pivot to Kelly would pair DeMeco Ryans with his coach in Philly as a player, and provide a nice balance between a defensive-minded head coach and a veteran coordinator with NFL head coaching experience.
Jones adds that Kelly could also get a look to join Liam Coen in Jacksonville, but with Coen expected to handle the offensive play calling duties, that may ultimately impact Kelly's interest.
A total of 11 NFL offensive coordinator jobs are currently open, with Kellen Moore (Eagles OC) and Mike Kafka (Giants OC) still in the mix for the Saints head coaching opening, and Joe Brady recently opting to return to Buffalo.
Plenty of folks will have their attention on this one, perhaps none more than Buckeye fans.
