Michigan made massive news in landing its quarterback commit in the 2025 class, flipping Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall player in the class, from LSU late last month.
Its second quarterback commit will also make news.
Chase Herbstreit, the son of former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit and grandson of former Buckeyes captain and assistant coach Jim Herbstreit, committed to Michigan on Sunday.
Herbstreit played for St. Xavier High School, a Cincinnati powerhouse, where threw for 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns while rushing for 649 yards and eight touchdowns. 247Sports does not rank Herbstreit in its system; On3 rates him as a 3-star prospect and the No. 128-ranked quarterback in the class.
Chase is the fourth of Kirk and Alison's four boys, and all four have or will play college football. Twins Jake and Tye walked on at Clemson, and Zak walked on at Ohio State.
Herbstreit committed to Michigan while the program is between coordinators. Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell was let go last week.
