Video: Southern Miss is "Preparing to Soar" (video)

Two seasons ago now, Todd Monken took on a very unique rebuilding job at Southern Miss.

Taking a look back, the Golden Eagles had just wrapped up a winless 0-12 season under Ellis Johnson in 2012 after finishing 11-2 under Larry Fedora in 2011. Monken was brought in to revive the program in 2013, and has made solid strides in his two seasons in Hattiesburg, winning one game in 2013, and 3 games last year.

Here's a look at the work the Eagles have been putting in this winter, competing in everything from holding chin-ups to staring contests, and plate push-pulls.

With home games against Mississippi State, North Texas, UTSA, UTEP, and Old Dominion, and road games against the likes of Nebraska, Marshall, Rice and Louisiana Tech, this could be the year that Monken turns the corner with the program.
