Sources: DeSean Jackson hiring former NFL running back to replace former NFL running back (Delaware State)

DeSean Jackson's first season at Delaware State was a tremendous success. Once they found their footing, they ripped off five straight wins (over Southern Connecticut State, North Carolina Central, Norfolk State, Morgan State and Howard) before ultimately finishing their season 8-4.

The run game was a big part of the offense under running backs coach Clinton Portis with two backs recently receiving Power 4 opportunities.

Moving forward, the run game will be overseen by new running backs coach Steve Broussard sources tell FootballScoop.

The former NFL running back (4 seasons with the Falcons, 4 with the Seahawks and one season each in Cincinnati and Baltimore) has been coaching the past 20 seasons, primarily out west. Most recently Broussard served as Cal Poly's running backs coach the past two seasons. In addition to offensive coordinator and multiple head coaching opportunities at the high school level, Broussard has coached running backs or receivers at UCLA, Arizona State, SMU, and Washington State (his alma mater).

Several FBS programs sought to speak with Jackson following this past season. If his Hornets have another excellent season, expect him to continue to field interest from larger programs.
