Sources: Georgia making a staff change (Georgia Football)

Phil Rauscher is expected to take over as Georgia's offensive line coach while Stacy Searels moves into a senior off-field position, sources confirmed to FootballScoop on Tuesday. The news was first reported by Georgia Bulldogs on SI.

Searels has coached Georgia's offensive line since 2022 in his second stint in the red and black, after also coaching the Georgia offensive line under Mark Richt from 2007-10. Searels has also coached the offensive line at Cincinnati, LSU (where he won a national championship under Nick Saban), Texas, Miami, Virginia Tech and North Carolina. He was a member of the second of Kirby Smart's back-to-back national title teams from 2021-22.

Rauscher was on Georgia's staff last season as the quality control coordinator after coaching the Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive line from 2022-24. He has also coached previously for the Denver Broncos, Washington Commanders, and Minnesota Vikings.

In his 10th season leading the program, Kirby Smart and his team won their second straight SEC championship in 2025, and for the second straight season saw their title hopes end in a Sugar Bowl quarterfinal loss. Mike Bobo and Glenn Schumann remain in place as coordinators.
