Sources: Presbyterian hiring Big Ten coach (Featured)

Matt Rahl has worked for more than two decades to get a shot as a college head coach.

Now that he's been appointed the head man at Presbyterian College, Rahl is continuing to assemble anything but a staff that screams first-year coach at the Football Championship Subdivision program.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Rahl is hiring Wisconsin Badgers assistant Zack Heeman as the Blue Hose's next offensive line coach.

Heeman has been an assistant coach working with the Wisconsin offensive line of Luke Fickell's Badgers program most recently and also has previous experience Jerry Kill, Phil Longo and AJ Blazek, among others.

He's a former star offensive lineman at Rutgers, where Heeman appeared in almost 30 career games and was a William V. Campbell Trophy award semifinalist last decade.

Shortly after his playing career, Heeman transitioned into coaching.

Rahl was elevated to the role of Presbyterian head coach after serving as the program's offensive coordinator during its record-setting run under previous head coach Steve Englehart. Last month, Englehart was hired away from Presbyterian to take of the West Georgia program after Mercer hired away Joel Taylor from the Wolves program.
