In a career that started with part-time work in the ticket office at Southern Miss, Brandon Bowie is taking another step in his career working in college football.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Bowie is departing his role on Pat Narduzzi's Pitt Panthers staff as that program's senior player personnel and recruiting analyst to take a recruiting director position at UMass.
Bowie's expected to be the director of high school recruiting for the Minutemen, who are entering Year 2 under head coach Joe Harasymiak.
After working in the ticket office at his alma mater, Southern Miss, as well as in personnel with the Golden Eagles and videography, Bowie landed his first full-time Football Bowls Subdivision gig in Lance Taylor's Western Michigan program.
After limited time there, Bowie then made the leap to the Power Conference level at Pitt, where he spent the past three seasons.
The Panthers just wrapped up their season in late December with a loss to East Carolina in the Military Bowl.
UMass is rebuilding under Harasymiak, who had solid success at Football Championship Subdivision program Maine before he made the leap after the 2024 season to take over the Minutemen.
UMass finished the 2025 season 0-12. It is scheduled to open next season on Sept. 5, 2026, at Greg Schiano's Rutgers Scarlett Knights program.
