So, Arkansas and new head coach Ryan Silverfield are going Baer hunting.
That's per sources to FootballScoop on Monday, who share that Silverfield's Razorbacks program is adding Baer Hunter to the Arkansas offensive staff.
Previously with Silverfield at the University of Memphis, Hunter is set to resume his work on the offensive side of the ball in the new Arkansas regime. Specifically, Hunter is expected to work with the offensive line unit.
Hunter has a compelling journey in college football.
After first signing with Appalachian State as a defensive lineman, Hunter switched to the offensive side of the ball -- tight end -- early in his career with the Mountaineers.
He then transitioned from tight end to the offensive line, where he became a three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection.
In his brief coaching career with his playing career just a few years removed, Hunter has worked as a defensive graduate assistant in Dave Clawson's Wake Forest program as well as for the MTSU Blue Raiders.
Silverfield is being tasked with rebuilding an Arkansas program that carries a 10-game losing streak into the 2026 season.
The Razorbacks already are making some notable moves under the former Memphis head coach, who guided the Tigers to 29 wins in his final three seasons before being hired as replacement to the fired Sam Pittman.
Arkansas hired away Gaizka Crowley from Arizona to become the program's general manager and also added Fletcher Kelly into the Arkansas Director of Scouting role.
Silverfield's also added Tim Cramsey as the program's new offensive coordinator and long-time collegiate coaching veteran Ron Roberts as defensive coordinator. Roberts had most recently been on Billy Napier's Florida Gators staff.
