Will Muschamp tells a player he should've offered, "I screwed up, you're a hell of a player." (Will Muschamp)

Most of us in life run from our mistakes. Head coaches, or former head coaches, see theirs line up in opposing colors.

Hailing from Winter Garden, Florida, Garrett Johnson, like many football players in the Sunshine State, grew up dreaming of playing for Florida. But then-Gators head coach Will Muschamp never offered.

Rated three stars by Rivals, Johnson instead chose Kentucky over Boston College, South Florida and Arizona.

As a true freshman, Johnson hauled in 22 grabs for 271 yards and two touchdowns, highlighted by a six-catch, 154-yard, two-touchdown effort in a near miss of Muschamp's Florida team. This season, the 5-9 slot receiver has emerged as Patrick Towles's top target, and on Thursday he posted a career-high nine grabs for 160 yards in another close loss to - you guessed it - Muschamp and Auburn.

After the game, Muschamp and Johnson shared a moment, where the former Gators head coach and current Tigers defensive coordinator owned up to his mistake in not bringing Johnson to Gainesville.
