Penn: University of Pennsylvania is accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants for the 2016 Spring semester . UPenn is a member of the Ivy League Conference. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of UPenn's 31 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; completion of various educational assignments during the internship are required. Qualifications include: strong work ethic; punctuality; enthusiasm; desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications but not required include: pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; NSCA-CPT, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certifications; CPR certification and coaching experience. Individuals chosen for the position are subject to college/university background checks. This is a Volunteer/unpaid position. Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants will receive experience working at a Division I program, better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Lamar: The Lamar University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Winter/Spring of 2016. The internship begins January 11, 2016 and ends May 20, 2016. This is an unpaid position, however, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning through earned future recommendation, and the possibility of a pre-arranged part-time coaching position outside of the internship for the selected candidates. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision of the Lamar Football team, set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, as well as the opportunity to gain hands on coaching experience by assisting with the strength and conditioning program for Olympic sports as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Prerequisites include completion of a Bachelors’ Degree, or credits needed to complete a Bachelor’s Degree, and working toward NSCA or CSCCA certification. Dartmouth: Dartmouth College Department of Strength and Conditioning (Olympic Sports) is accepting applications for 1 paid Athletic Intern. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: design and implementation of sport specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned Olympic sport teams and assist with Football; demonstration and instruction of Olympic weightlifting techniques; supervise team workouts, individual workouts, assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Qualifications: (Required) - Bachelor’s degree, CSCS, CSCCa certification; CPR and First Aid certifications; previous experience in an NCAA four-year college or university weight room working with a variety of teams; experience in designing and implementing workout programs. Additional Position Information: This is a 6 month position from January 1, 2016 thru May 30, 2016 with the possibility for renewal. Compensation is $2,000 per month. Purdue: Purdue Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for undergraduate and graduate internship positions for Spring and Summer 2016. Purdue is home to 18 sports teams. Interns will have the opportunity to assist any given combination of sports as well as special projects, possible sport science, and participate in education meetings.
