Tulane: The Tulane University strength and conditioning department is currently seeking two qualified candidates to fill internship positions. Job duties will include (1.) assisting primarily with the daily operations of the football strength and conditioning program along with Olympic sports as assigned, (2.) facility maintenance and upkeep, (3.) equipment set up and break down for all training sessions, and (4.) participation in professional development opportunities. This is an unpaid internship with an expected commitment which begins January 12, 2015 and ends May 8, 2015. The opportunity offers experience for advancement in the profession and potential credit towards degree completion as applicable. This internship is also approved as a CSCCa mentorship site under the supervision of a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications for the position consist of the candidates being CPR/AED certified and having or working towards the SCCC or CSCS credential. New Mexico State: Per source, former Missouri GA Akeem Robinson is now an assistant strength coach at New Mexico State.
Washington: Per source, former West Florida graduate assistant Josh Holman is now on staff at Washington working with the Olympic sports.
North Carolina Central (FCS): North Carolina Central Universityβs Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting volunteer (UNPAID) strength and conditioning coaches to work with Football and Olympic Sports. Qualifications: Candidates must have a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach; Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid. Pursuing CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification(s). Must be willing to work entire spring term (Jan 07- Apr. 29). Rewards: Those seeking to become SCCC certified will receive mentoring from a certified Master Strength and Conditioning Coach. You will learn various training methodologies, in-depth Olympic lifting modalities, and programming. The knowledge and experience gained will prepare interns for potential graduate assistantships and future professional positions in the field of strength and conditioning.
