Miami: Charlie Strong held a press conference tonight. It seemed like he was planning to say that he wasn't interested in the Miami job; but he didn't say it.

Ferrum College (D-III - VA): Per source, head coach Dave Harper will not return. Harper has served as head coach since 2011 and has served loyally at Ferrum well over twenty years.

Missouri: Athletic director Mack Rhoades said today that he has yet to decide whether he will use the services of a search firm. Rhoades notes that he likes Tom Herman and Justin Fuente and thinks they are excellent coaches; but adds that he is not tied in to any one candidate yet, saying he's looking for the best fit for Mizzou. Rhoades added that he's looking for a CEO type coach who is good at coaching coaches. Here is a full recap of what Rhoades said.

Louisiana Tech: Tech has announced a new apparel deal with Adidas. The contract is 5 years, worth an average of $605,000 per year.

Edinboro (D-II - PA): Head coach Scott Browning will not return to the staff. Browning served as head coach for the past ten years and has spent the past 30 years as part of the staff. Browning departs with an overall record of 57-54.

Texas State: There is a report from Texas State Insider that said the Dennis Franchione has agreed with the Board to resign at the end of the season. We have not confirmed this report. We are awaiting response and will update. Update> Sources tell us that this report is not accurate.

Illinois: Sources tell FootballScoop that Illinois is hoping to have an agreement in place with their new athletic director by early next week (at the latest). Sources tell us that people involved in the search continue to believe that Colorado AD Rick George is a strong candidate. Separately, sources in Colorado relay back that they would be highly surprised to see George leave, noting he "walks on water" at CU and has done an excellent job fundraising. Reading the tea leaves...sounds to FootballScoop like Rick George is about to get a raise from one of the two schools.

Dean College (JC - MA): Head coach Todd Vasey has been promoted to athletic director after 12 seasons leading the football program. Vasey is the program's winningest coach (83-37) leading the bulldogs to four conference championships and three bowl games. Dean College will begin the search for its new head football coach immediately. More info can be found here

Los Angeles Southwest College (CA): Los Angeles Southwest is looking to hire part-time assistant coaches for the following positions (Offensive Line, Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, & Running Backs). Previous college coaching experience preferred. The job duties include coaching the assigned position, recruiting, use of digital editing software, and other administrative duties assigned by the head coach and/or offensive coordinator. All positions will begin in February. Compensation will depend on experience. Interested candidates should send their cover letter, resume and references to Coach Estrada at estradre@lasc.edu. No phone calls please.

UCF: With Danny White landing the AD job, the Orlando Sentinel is now reporting that St. Louis Rams quarterbacks coach Chris Weinke is interested in the head job at UCF. Weinke, the former Florida State quarterback, spent five years as the director of football at IMG in Bradenton, FL.

Maine (FCS): Despite a 3-7 record, AD Karlton Creech said contract extension discussions will begin for head coach Jack Cosgrove after Thanksgiving. Cosgrove is the Black Bears' all-time winningest coach with 129 victories in 23 seasons. The Black Bears won 10 games in 2013; but only managed 5 last season.

USC: Bill Plaschke of the LA Times makes the case that USC should promote Clay Helton to full-time head coach. Helton has done everything anyone has asked of him during his time at USC and has passed on opportunities at both Auburn and Alabama. If UCS ultimately doesn't select Helton, many programs would be wise to consider him for their head coaching positions.

Lebanon Valley (D-III - PA): Head coach Jim Monos is retiring at the end of January and he is being replaced by offensive coordinator, and longtime assistant Joe Buehler, effective February 1st. Monos spent 23 seasons leading the program.

Jones (JC - MS): Head coach David Thornton has resigned, per source.
