Vanderbilt: Former Nebraska strength coach James Dobson has been offered the head strength position at Vanderbilt pending formal clearances per sources. Jesse Johnson first reported the news this evening.
Elon: Elon University Strength and Conditioning is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Spring 2015 semester. The internship will begin February 2nd and run through May 12th. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Elon University’s 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties. This is an unpaid internship. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or have previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Having a background in performing and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred.
