Marshall: The Marshall Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for its 2016 Summer Internship Program. This is an unpaid position (no-monetary) compensation will be provided. However the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. Candidates interested in this position should be: hardworking, passionate, detail orientated individuals, who have the desire to work in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA, or the SCCC through the CSCCa. Responsibilities will include: Daily maintenance of the facility and all of its equipment. Daily setup and break down of weight room and field workouts, and supervision of training sessions. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects and reports. ULM: The University of Louisiana Monroe is looking for 5-8 summer 2016 mentorship candidates. Candidates must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic and attention to detail. There is no monetary compensation for this position. The mentorship will begin May 25th and end August 3rd. All mentors will be required to assist with football and other assigned sports. In conjunction with duties of coaching, mentors will be exposed to many aspects of strength and conditioning through educational presentations by current strength coaches at ULM. It is the goal of this mentorship program to educate mentors on both coaching presence and the science of training for sport. All candidates must be currently working towards or hold one of the following certificates CSCS, CSCCA, or USAW. Illinois: The University of Illinois Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns for the summer of 2016. Qualifications: Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Compensation: This is an unpaid voluntary position. Candidates will gain experience training Big 10 football athletes as well as assist the strength staff with any duties that need to be completed. The internship will run from May 31st through July 29th.
