New Hampshire (FCS): Per sources, Mike Ferzoco has been moved from running backs to wide receivers, and former UNH running back Chris Setian has been hired to coach the running backs.
West Virginia: Dana Holgorsen has now announced the addition of Tyron Carrier as receivers coach. Holgo coached Carrier at Houston, and he spent last season working as an offensive graduate assistant with the receivers and returners at Baylor. Carrier has a one-year deal worth $175,000.
Scoop him up: Carl Embry is a former college assistant coach who spent a number of years as an Armor Officer in the US Army. For the past year and a half, Embry has been working in corporate America, but he is pursuing a return to coaching. Prior to joining the military, Embry played at Adrian College (D-III - MI), where he started his career as a graduate assistant before being promoted to defensive line coach. After a few seasons, Embry took a job coaching the wide receivers at Findlay (D-II - OH) and also completed a minority internship with the Detroit Lions in 2007. Embry has developed relationships with James Lyall, James Deere, Dan Simrell, Joe Cullen, Rod Marinelli, Kory Allen, and Tyler Haines, among a host of others. Maine (FCS): Wide receivers coachNick Charlton has been promoted to special teams coordinator.
Hamline (D-III - MN): Former Minnesota quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski has been named assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Hamline. Prior to coaching at Minnesota, Zebrowski was the offensive coordinator at UW-Whitewater (D-III) where he won two national titles.
Western Carolina (FCS): Blake Gideon has been hired to coach the secondary after working under Will Muschamp as a graduate assistant at Florida, Auburn and South Carolina.
UCLA: Jonathan Bills has joined the staff as an offensive graduate assistant after spending last season as the offensive line / tight ends coach at Adam State (D-II - CO). Bills has previous graduate assistant experience at Western Kentucky and USF.
Southwest Baptist (D-II - MO): SBU is seeking a qualified graduate assistant working on the defensive side of the ball. This position will come with a $7,500 stipend that will also include Master classes. Room and board are NOT included with the position. Must have a valid driver’s license and be cleared by our university for the use of car rental’s. Responsibilities include coaching a position, maintaining recruiting territories, film breakdown (Hudl), and other duties assigned by the head coach and coordinators. Preferred candidates must have prior playing/coaching experience with either defensive backs or linebackers. Penn (FCS): Joe Johnson, who has spent the past two seasons as an offensive graduate assistant at Rice, has joined the staff as an offensive assistant.
Mesa Community College (JC – AZ): Mesa CC is seeking applicants for a safeties coach. This is a stipend only position that does not include room and board. Responsibilities include: recruiting a specific area, assisting with practice and game planning, film breakdown, and other administrative duties assigned by the head coach and defensive coordinator. San Bernardino Valley (JC - CA): LA Valley College (JC - CA) offensive coordinator Jason Vandiver is now serving as the interim head coach at San Bernardino Valley College, per source.
Gattaca (JC - NJ): Gattaca is looking to hire a new head football coach. Salary is $1,000 per month plus incentives (May-October). This position reports to the Athletic Director and President of the program. Employees in this job may be subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract which is typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis. This position directs a staff of Assistant Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches who have specific responsibility for offense, defense, linebackers, offensive/defensive line, quarterbacks, receivers, etc. This work may include coaching in outside areas, hot and cold weather, and exposure to elements such as rain, snow, dirt, fumes, and loud noises. The duties require moderate to active physical activity and standing or walking more than four hours per day. This position requires at least 4 years of experience as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach at the high school or collegiate level.
