Last summer, Hendrick Motorsports reached out to FootballScoop asking us to post a job opening. So we did.
Here's the post: While we can't prove he found the job through our site (but... c'mon), the highly motivated Pit Crew coach Hendrick Motorsports sought turned out to be UTEP defensive graduate assistant Weston Glaser. A 2012 Sam Houston State graduate, Glaser worked with the Bearkats' secondary and served as video coordinator before following coordinator Scott Stoker across Texas from Huntsville to El Paso. Glaser was set to work with UTEP's linebackers until a twist of fate saw him spending the 2014 football season assisting with pit crews for Jimmy Johnson and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. That's a long way from cutting up film in advance of next week's game against UTSA.

And Tuesday the story came full circle (full oval?) as Glazer jumped back into football at his old stomping grounds as UTEP named him its nickel and safeties coach. "Weston (Glaser) is an outstanding young coach who has great knowledge of coach Stoker's defensive system," head coach Sean Kugler said in a statement. "He has a lot of energy and will do an outstanding job."
In the end, Glaser secured the promotion every GA dreams of - a bump to the full-time staff on his current staff. He just had to take the most unconventional road possible to get there.
