Cal Poly Pomona (D-II): Jordan Alcantar has been hired as strength and conditioning coach.
Missouri: The University Of Missouri Department Of Athletic Performance is now accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Intern. There is no monetary compensation provided, however, the aforementioned internship is a learning opportunity that qualifies as practical experience toward the 640 hours required toward SCCC certification with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as theoretical and practical experience that can be applied to CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assistance of supervision for daily activities, set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance, weekly educational projects and reports, and assistance with execution of workout design and implementation for various sports. All prospective interns are expected to have an interest in advancing in a career in athletic performance. Prospects should have outstanding work ethic, energy, enthusiasm and attention to detail. Individuals chosen for this position are subject to university background checks and will possess or be in the process of obtaining CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Sioux Falls: The University of Sioux Falls Athletic program is seeking a qualified individual for a graduate assistant in Strength and Conditioning to help in all phases of a successful athletic program. USF is a member of NCAA Division II and of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. A graduate assistantship at USF includes full graduate tuition and fees (upon acceptance to the graduate program), partial housing (if available), and a monthly stipend. This is a 12-month graduate assistantship program. Responsibilities will include providing strength and conditioning services for student-athletes participating in USF athletics -- specific team assignments may vary from year to year. The successful candidate must have a Bachelorβs degree (minimum 3.0 GPA), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent certification, CPR Certification, and be accepted into the University of Sioux Falls MBA or MED graduate program. Candidates must have an understanding of the mission of the University of Sioux Falls, have strong communication skills, and proven commitment to students-athletes and hard work. Experience is preferred but not required. Travel is necessary with a valid driverβs license required. Ability to successfully pass a background check also required.
