Queens University of Charlotte (NC): Queens University of Charlotte Strength & Conditioning department is now accepting applications for the position of VOLUNTEER INTERN to contribute to the Strength and Conditioning program beginning late August 2015 for the Fall semester. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES are as follows but not limited to: assist strength and conditioning coaches in program implementation of each sport, set up prior to and break down following workouts, and routine organization/cleaning of the weight room. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS are as follows: open availability, strong work ethic, reliability, desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, desire to learn and be challenged, and daily positive attitude. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION will be provided. Ideal candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or have earned an undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCa, SCCC; USAW) is preferred. Marshall: Marshall University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Fall of 2015. The internship begins August 24th and ends December 6th. These are unpaid positions. However, these positions offer an opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree, based on circumstance. The interns that are selected will also have the opportunity to accumulate internship hours in preparation for the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) Certification Process. Daily responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, assistance in the supervision of the Marshall University Football, Baseball and Softball teams, set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of the training facility. San Jose State: San Jose State University is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of VOLUNTEER/INTERN in the Athletic Performance Department for fall semester, 2015. The capable candidates will have the opportunity to advance their competence while gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the field of Athletic Performance at a Division 1A institution. Responsibilities for the positions are: assist AP staff with all daily maintenance and operational duties, involvement in volunteer/intern professional development program, as well as other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Performance Coach. Required Qualifications: Applicants should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Science or a related field and working towards CSCS or SCCC. Must have a strong desire to be involved in Athletic Performance at the collegiate level; proficient in Microsoft Excel; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; must be diligent and willing to learn; adhere to all University, Mountain West Conference and NCAA regulations. The Citadel: The Citade is currently accepting applications for two VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) internship positions. The internship will last for the duration of the fall semester, August 12 – December 4, 2015. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division I S&C environment under the guidance of a CSCCa approved mentor, with exposure to training, programming, and coaching. Other benefits include potential future references, course credit, and gear when available. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications, an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Candidates must need this internship for college requirement/course credit. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Exercise Science or related field. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body, (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Appalachian State: Appalachian State University is accepting applications for Fall 2015 Strength and Conditioning Internships. These are UNPAID internships. These positions will run from approximately August 16th thru early December. Interns will gain practical experience working with a multitude of teams, including football, at a Division 1 Sun Belt Conference university. Daily tasks include but are not limited to: aiding in the implementation of training programs, assisting with set up and break down of equipment, daily clean up and maintenance of the weight room, and supervision of nutrition area. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, able to follow directions, possess excellent communication skills, have a desire to learn, and have an extremely strong work ethic. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, adapt to demanding schedule, and a strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach. At the end of the semester long internship volunteers will have a better understanding of program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future opportunities, and if applicable receive college credit.
