Western Carolina: Western Carolina Universityβs Athletic Performance Dept is accepting applications for strength and conditioning interns for the Spring 2016 semester. This is an UNPAID position. Through this internship you will gain Division I experience under a CSCCa approved mentor, and an opportunity for recommendations for future jobs in this field. APPLICANTS WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TIME TO SEEK LOCAL EMPLOYMENT TO OFFSET THE COSTS OF THE INTERNSHIP. The internship will start January 4th and proceed through April 29th, 2016. Responsibilities will include: assisting with the winter football program, assisting with all Olympic sports programs, teaching athletes great technique and assist in keeping athletes accountable during sessions, daily maintenance responsibilities, weight room projects that may be periodically assigned, and internship curriculum assignments for professional development. Applicants must be CPR Certified or must obtain certification once they arrive on campus. It is preferred that the applicant either has or is in pursuit of an undergraduate degree in a related field. Certification or pursuit of one of the following certifications is preferred: CSCS, SCCC, USAW, PES. Candidates must also possess an unbelievable work ethic, great interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to be in this field.
