Cumberland University (TN): Cumberland University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting two (2) volunteer unpaid strength and conditioning intern positions for the Fall 2014 semester. Internship will begin August 7 and continue through December 6, 2014. Qualifications: Completed or working towards Bachelorβs Degree in Exercise Science or related field; current CPR/AED certification; desire to pursue career as a strength and conditioning coach; strong work ethic; punctual. Preferred: Currently possess or working toward CSCS or SCCC certification; previous internship/coaching experience; ability to work with Microsoft Office programs. Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to: Assisting strength coaches with the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning/sports performance programs, daily weight room maintenance and upkeep, and any other duties assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach. Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field as well as fulfill school internship hours if necessary. Indiana State: Indiana State University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning position. This is a one-year appointment for the 2014-15 academic year with the opportunity of renewal to complete degree. Candidates must be accepted into a graduate program at Indiana State University, or in process of applying. This position will start in August of 2014. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or Related Field, and previous internship experience in the collegiate athletic setting. CPR/First-Aid/AED Certification required (can be obtained upon arrival to campus). Punctuality, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, ability to work early mornings and late evenings. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certified through CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW COMPENSATION: Full Graduate Tuition up to 18 credit hours per year, and $8,000 stipend for the academic year (multiple payment options). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position will be responsible for the design and implementation of the training programs 2-3 teams as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
