Oregon: USF head coach Willie Taggart will be the new Oregon head coach sources confirm to FootballScoop. ESPN's Brett McMurphy first reported the news.

Sacramento State (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop, Sac State is making some changes. We understand that offensive coordinator / quarterbacks Paul Peterson and special teams coordinator / rovers Anthony Parker will not return to the staff.

San Francisco 49ers: Jay Glazer reports tonight Chip Kelly will be back next year regardless of how this season plays out.

Benedictine College (NAIA - KS): Running backs coach Ryan Kelly has left the staff.

With Matt Rhule off to Baylor, 16 FBS jobs have now opened this offseason.

Nevada: Eastern Washington head coach Beau Baldwin on Tuesday confirmed he interviewed for the open Nevada job. When asked to expand on that, per Spokane sportswriter Jim Turner, Baldwin said, "Richmond. Next question." EWU hosts Richmond this weekend in the FCS playoffs.

Lincoln (D-II - MO): Former Albany State (D-II - GA) offensive coordinator Steven Smith is the new head coach of the Blue Tigers.

Missouri: Barry Odom notes that he plans to ask his eight current assistant coaches to return in 2017, according to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The dismissal of defensive line coach Jackie Shipp is the lone full-time opening for Odom at this time. Odom also noted that he plans to maintain defensive play calling duties moving forward after taking over those duties with five games left this past season.

Mike Gundy: ESPN's Brett McMurphy has just reported the same thing we did last night, that Mike Gundy is not involved in the Baylor process.

Baylor: Last night we wrote that Baylor and A-State head coach Blake Anderson had begun negotiating, noting that the deal is not done. Reps have since alerted us to contract language in Anderson's contract with A-State precluding him from being able to engage in direct talks without prior consent which they had not sought as of last night. Our understanding is that several coaches, typically through their agents, have discussed terms of a deal with Baylor only to have the deal then fizzle. Will update as more transpires.

Whittier (D-III - CA): Whittier College is seeking applicants for two graduate assistant coaching positions (1 offensive, 1 defensive). Qualifications include acceptance into graduate school (3.0 minimum GPA). The position includes a monthly stipend of $200, some meals, and free graduate school (Masters Edu.). No housing, or benefits are included, so candidates currently living in or around L.A., or with the ability to relocate to Los Angeles are more likely to make this position work effectively based on the pay of this position. The successful candidate will coach his own position, run positional meetings, contribute to the weekly game plan, have video editing duties (HUDL), and have his own recruiting area. Start date is as soon as possible. Please email a cover letter, resume, and references to head coach Mike Neale at mneale@whittier.edu. No phone calls please.

Arizona Cardinals: Bruce Arians told reporters that rumors of him considering retirement following a few heath issues this season "could not be further from the truth."

Nevada: The Wolf Pack are down to a few finalists that include Eastern Washington (FCS) head coach Beau Baldwin and Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal, who adds that at least one candidate remains unknown at this point. Bruce Feldman adds Jay Norvell to the list of candidates in play for the job. We hear there is another candidate as well. The Gazette-Journal adds that on-campus interviews are taking place this week and they hope to make a hire by Friday.
