NFL: Purdue director of football operations Andrew Warsaw has been hired as the NFL's director of game operations sources tell FootballScoop. Warsaw joined the Purdue staff in 2015, having previously worked at Arizona, Fordham, Penn, Villanova & the US Merchant Marine Academy.

Concordia University - Nebraska (NAIA): Defensive coordinator Patrick Daberkow has been promoted to head coach replacing Vance Winter who resiged after eight years as head coach.

Nevada: Jay Norvell's contract is five years.

Cincinnati: Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell has agreed to become head coach at Cincinnati reports Jordan Strack.

Baylor: Matt Rhule has hired his first five staff members. Sean Padden, Temple chief of staff of athletics, and former DFO for Rhule at Temple, is coming as director of operations. Also coming from Temple are Francis Brown, Evan Cooper and Mike Siravo. Official titles are to be determined; but at Temple Brown coached defensive backs, Cooper served as director of player personnel and Siravo coached linebackers. We previously reported the hire of David Wetzel (from San Antonio Reagan HS). We understand Wetzel is likely to serve in an off the field capacity.

FAU: After not getting the Houston job, sources tell FootballScoop FAU is in talks with Lane Kiffin to become their new head coach.

Houston: Major Applewhite's buyout, per Joseph Duarte, will be whatever is remaining on his contract (5 years, beginning about $1.35 million).

Missouri: Missouri has announced Brick Haley as its new defensive line coach. Haley spent the last two years at Texas and also owns recent defensive line experience with LSU, the Chicago Bears and Mississippi State.

Texas: Houston AD Hunter Yurachek tells Kirk Bohls that DC Todd Orlando is "probably moving on to Austin" to be with Tom Herman.

Cincinnati: No announcement of a new head coach is expected today, according to multiple outlets.

Houston: Joseph Duarte reports that Major Applewhite's deal will be comprable to Tom Herman's initial deal with the team - 5-years and about $1.35 million annually.

Texas: Houston board of regents chairman Tilman Fertitta noted today that he expects Houston defensive coordinator Todd Orlando to join Tom Herman at Texas, per Joseph Duarte. Orlando had been serving as the interim head coach of the Coogs prior to the appointment of Major Applewhite to the head coaching post.

Nevada: The Wolf Pack will formally introduce new head coach Jay Norvell at a 3pm EST press conference.

Lindenwood (D-II - MO): Per source, Tremaine Jackson has opted not to take the head coaching job at West Texas (D-II), and will instead join Jed Stugart's staff as defensive coordinator.

Quincy (D-II - IL):Quincy needs a HOME game and is looking for an opponent for September 2, 2017. Looking for a D2/NAIA opponent. Please contact head coach Tom Pajic at pajicth@quincy.edu or 217-228-5578.

Charleston Southern (FCS):Charleston Southern University is seeking a home game with a guarantee for 9/23/17 or 9/30/17. If interested please contact AD Hank Small at hsmall@csuniv.edu.

Georgia Southern: Georgia Tech's Bryan Cook has accepted the offer to become Georgia Southern's offensive coordinator, per Georgia Southern On Scout. Cook coached the quarterbacks and B-backs at GT.

Cincinnati: ESPN's Adam Rittenberg relays that Luke Fickell has had discussions with Cincinnati but no offer has been extended at this time. As of last night, we had the same understanding, adding that others were still being considered.

Western Kentucky: Ohio State offensive coordinator Ed Warinner is "in serious mix" to be the new head coach at WKU, according to Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch.

Houston: Offensive coordinator Major Applewhite is the new head coach. Todd Orlando, who was serving as the interim head coach, will serve as the defensive coordinator for the bowl game. AD Hunter Yuracheck notes that Applewhite got a 5-year deal, and the two sides have agreed to basic terms, per Joseph Duarte.

Les Miles: Soureces tell FootballScoop, ESPN is very interested in having Les join the network should Les decide none of the coaching openings are the right fit for him. It is our hope the decision makers at the worldwide leader recognize the potential for a daily show. #MakeESPNGreatAgain

Charlie Strong: Charlie is in Tampa today, reports Josh Newberg of 247. Newberg states that no offer has been made yet but that could change today; but he adds that he doesn't expect a deal to be reached today. Newberg adds that Willie Taggart has been in touch with Strong about joining the Oregon staff as defensive coordinator.

Baylor: Matt Rhule has hired San Antonio Reagan HS head coach David Wetzel to his staff, as reported by Ben Baby of the Dallas Morning News. Sources tell FootballScoop Wetzel will oversee player development. Wetzel is a Baylor alum and the president of the Texas High School Coaches Association.

Georgia Southern: Sources tell FootballScoop Tyson Summers has now offered his offensive coordinator position to Georgia Tech quaterbacks / B-backs coach Bryan Cook. Summers is clearly looking to bring the triple back to Statesboro. We expect a decision on this later today.

LA Valley College (JC - CA): Running backs coach Matt White has taken over as the interim head coach, per source.

Cincinnati: Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell and Cincinnati are in contract negotiations to make him the next head coach of the Bearcats, according to BearcatReport. The report adds that "at this time it is unclear when the deal will be complete."

Northern Michigan (D-II - MI): According to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN, Michigan State offensive line coach Mark Staten has withdrawn his name from consideration for the head coaching job at NMU. The three candidates that remain in the running are Ferris State (D-II - MI) co-defensive coordinator Kyle Nystrom, Fairmont State (D-II - WV) head coach Jason Woodman, and Grand Valley State (D-II - MI) co-defensive coordinator Nick Postma.
