Notable spring games on TV today: Alabama (2 p.m. ET, ESPNU), Arizona State (2 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Networks), Syracuse (2 p.m. ET, ESPN3), Texas (2 p.m. ET, Longhorn Network), Auburn (3 p.m. ET, ESPN), Utah (3 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Networks), Washington (4 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Networks), USC (6 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Networks).
Southern Virginia: Per source, Southern Virginia will name defensive coordinator Jason Walker their new head coach. Walker was a grad assistant at BYU this past season. Yep.
Minot State: Southern Virginia head coach Tyler Hughes has agreed to become the new head coach at Minot State. Hughes is the former Snow College head coach. He spent the 2012 season as a quality control coach at Ohio State and had accepted the head job at SVU last month.
Iowa: Recruiting director Eric Johnson has left the program after 15 years to pursue an opportunity outside of football. He has directed the Hawkeyes' recruiting efforts for the past 15 years and worked with the defensive line for the past two seasons.
