A half-billion dollar renovation to Kyle Field apparently wasn't enough for Texas A&M. The Aggies announced Thursday plans to throw in $16 million in improvements to the Bright Complex - home to the football program's locker room, meeting rooms, coaches' offices and training facilities. The Aggies simply will not be out-spent and out-invested in their transition to the SEC.
“We appreciate the support of the Board of Regents, University administration and Aggies everywhere,” Texas A&M athletics director Eric Hyman said in the school's official statement. “The sincere commitment to excellence from everyone associated with Texas A&M is apparent. This project will continue to help us recruit outstanding student-athletes, as well as provide a first-class experience for our current student-athletes and coaches.”
Encompassing nearly 50,000 square feet, Texas A&M will install new graphics, technology, office space and furniture throughout the complex, while completely refurbishing the Aggies' meeting rooms.
The first stage of the project is expected to be complete by this fall, with the second stage coming to a close by next summer.
Judging by this rendering accompanying the release, the new and improved Bright Complex should look pretty sweet.
