It's that time of year again: We are accepting nominations for the 2015 FootballScoop Coach of the Year awards presented by our good friends at ProGrass. We'll hand trophies to winners at every position in FBS and to coordinators at the divisional and NAIA levels. Austin Peay (FCS - TN): Head coach Kirby Cannon has been let go. The Governors finished 0-11 this season and only won one game in Cannon's three seasons as head coach.
Syracuse: LSU's staff is in limbo...so sure, Coach O says he'd love the Syracuse head job.

At 1:21 p.m. today, exactly 15 months since his DIPG diagnosis, Chad Carr (Lloyd's grandson) gained his angel wings. He left the earth peacefully and is now running and jumping in heaven. It is well with his soul. We will follow up with service details once everything is arranged. The family thanks everyone for the support and asks for continued prayers for our family.
Montana State (FCS): Per source, head coach Rob Ash has been let go. We have confirmed that the entire staff has been let go.
LSU: ESPN's Joe Schad is now reporting that a buyout of "Les Miles' contract is a very good possibility". Schad, citing sources in Louisiana, expects this to play out today. Yahoo's Pat Forde reports that LSU is prepared to fire Les but adds that the decision hasn't been made.
Northern State (D-II - SD): Northern State University is accepting applications for a defensive graduate assistant (defensive backs). Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: coaching a position group, managing a recruiting area, video breakdown, and other duties assigned by the head coach. Playing and/or coaching experience with defensive backs is preferred. Position includes tuition waiver and stipend, with additional income possibilities. Virginia Tech:An update at Virginia Tech as they move closer to making a hire.
Eastern Kentucky (FCS): Head coach Dean Hood has been let go. FootballScoop had been told before the season that Hood was unlikely to return as the president of the university wanted new life in the program as they try to build the case for an invite from an FBS conference.
LSU: Joe Schad, speaking on SportsCenter, said that per a source, "the Les Miles situation could be resolved today".
Presentation (NAIA - SD):Presentation College is looking for an opponent for the 2016-17 seasons. Possible dates for 2016 would be Sep. 3, Sep 10, or Sep.17 (corresponding dates in 2017). Syracuse: Head coach Scott Shafer has been told he will coach this final game vs BC; but that is it, per SI. We have confirmed the news. Yesterday morning we let Scoop readers know this was coming. Syracuse has now officially announced the move. "National search" will begin immediately.

Cal: According to Jeff Faruado, Sonny Dykes says that he "did not talk Sunday with AD Mike Williams, but discussions on his contract on ongoing."
Stony Brook: Head coach Chuck Priore has announced the addition of Chris Bache as offensive line coach. Bache spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator / offensive line coach at Ferrum College (D-III - VA).
Hiram College (D-III - OH): Hiram has an opening for an intern coach. This position will assist the head coach in all facets of the sports program including, but not limited to, coaching, the development and implementation of individual fundamental skills, recruiting and retaining quality young men and athletes. Requirements: Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; strong managerial, administrative, interpersonal skills; and computer proficiency. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Prior playing or coaching experience at the college/university or professional level is preferred. This position is a stipend position with room and board. First consideration will be given to northeast Ohio coaches. Illinois: Bill Cubit "still has a shot" at the full-time head coaching position, according to what Illinois interim AD Paul Kowalczyk tells the Chicago Sun-Times. The Illini need to beat 9-2 Northwestern on Saturday to become bowl eligible.
