The above headline may read like the set up to some Dad joke, but, no, a man with a machete really did walk into the Colorado athletics offices on Wednesday.
Shortly after 9 a.m. local time, Boulder police received a text message report of a man with a machete, according to the Boulder Daily Camera. Police arrived to a locked down Champions Center, and by 9:20 a.m. there were reports of shots fired with a suspect in custody.
Authorities are currently investigating the shooting. We'll update this story as more details become available.
Update: The suspect has died, while all CU personnel are safe and secure.
