Tomorrow, people all around the country, from all different walks of life, will head to the polls and cast their vote for the next leader of our great country. One FCS head coach is making sure everyone on his roster participates.
Coastal Carolina head coach Joe Moglia, who also serves as the Chairman and is the former CEO of TD Ameritrade, is making sure all of his players take part in this staple of our democracy by taking the time to get the entire Chanticleer program - over 100 of them - out to the polls. It's something that Moglia says the service academies all do, and it's something he's very passionate about.
“Every one of our guys is going to vote Tuesday, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of,” head coach Joe Moglia told Myrtle Beach Online. “The service academies do that. There’s not going to be one other university football team in the nation that’s going to do that, and you know every one of them probably should do that.”
Moglia and his coaching staff made sure all players were registered to vote, and as full-time college students all players are permitted to vote locally tomorrow. Guys that have already voted will head to the polls to support their teammates.
“The right to vote is one of the cornerstones of this great democracy and is a privilege no one should take for granted,” Moglia added.
