Dallas Cowboys: Josh Brent, a former defensive tackle with the organization, has joined the organization in a scouting capacity, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Texas: Per Horns Digest, former AD Steve Patterson will receive a buyout of $2.8 million as part of his contract settlement. Patterson will get $1.4 million each of the next two years as long as he doesn't find a new job in that time frame that pays him at least $1.4 million. If he finds a new job that pays less, Texas will make up the difference between the two. The $2.8 million buyout figure is right around half of what Patterson was owed on the remainder of his deal with the Longhorns.
