If you haven't kept up with the goings on from Sochi, here's what you need to know: the Russian men's hockey team blew it, the U.S. women gave their hockey gold medal away to Canada, and the Dutch speed skaters have absolutely crushed everyone in their path.

A team of 10 men and 10 women, the Netherlands has accounted for an astounding 21 medals. They've medaled at least once in every single speed skating event, claimed two medals in three events and completely swept the medal stand in the men's 500, 5,000 and 10,000 and the women's 1,500. The Dutch have dominated speed skating the way the SEC dominates recruiting rankings.

The Dutch speed skating coach is named Jillert Anema, and he thinks he knows a thing or two about sports. Specifically, American sports. Here's what he had to say in an interview with CNBC:

“You have a lot of attention on a foolish sport like American football and you waste a lot of talent, athletic talent, on a sport that is meant to kill each other, to injure each other," Anema said. "… You’re so narrow-minded, and then you want to compete against the world [in other sports] when you waste a lot of time, good talent on a sport that sucks.”

Sir, where I come from, those are fighting words.
