From the outside looking in, there wasn't a whole lot special about Southeast Missouri's 2018 football season. The Redhawks went 9-4, finished second in the Ohio Valley Conference, won a home playoff game before bowing out in the second round at Weber State.

But just viewing the season from afar misses all the context, and that's where the story is.

SEMO hosted a playoff game for the first time in school history and -- at a program that started football in 1904 -- the Rehawks' 28-14 defeat of Stony Brook was the first playoff win in school history.

That is the story of these rings, as head coach Tom Matukewicz explains in the video below.
